Language Settings
Set the app’s interface language and your preferred transcription languages.
Kalima has two separate language settings, and it helps to know which one you are changing. Your interface language controls the words on Kalima's own menus and buttons. My Languages sets the transcription languages that pre-fill every new session you start. This page walks through both.
These two settings are independent. Switching the interface to German does not change the languages Kalima listens for when you record, and vice versa.
Interface language
Kalima's interface is fully available in English and German. You can switch between them at any time, and your choice is remembered for future visits.
Open the language switcher. It is the globe control in the app rail, and it also appears in the header on marketing pages.
Choose English or Deutsch.
The interface reloads in your chosen language and keeps it the next time you sign in.
You can also set the same preference from your profile: open your account dialog, go to the Profile tab, and pick a Preferred language under Personal Information.
The Preferred language dropdown in your profile lists a few extra options (such as Türkçe, Arabic, Français, and Español). Only English and German are fully translated today. Choosing one of the others currently shows the interface in English, so pick English or Deutsch for a fully translated experience.
My Languages (transcription languages)
My Languages is where you set the languages you usually transcribe. Choose a primary language and add any secondary languages you frequently switch between, and Kalima will pre-select them whenever you start a new session, so you do less setup each time.
Open your account dialog and go to the Profile tab.
Find the My Languages section.
Pick your primary language, then add any secondary languages you commonly use.
Save. New sessions will now start with these languages already selected.
My Languages are preferences, not locks. You can still change the languages on any individual session before you start recording, for example by adding a one-off language for a specific call.

Frequently asked questions
The Kalima interface is fully available in English and German. Other options that appear in the Preferred language dropdown currently fall back to English until those translations ship.
No. The interface language only affects the words on Kalima's own screens. The languages Kalima transcribes are set by My Languages (your defaults) and by the language hints on each session.
Yes. My Languages simply pre-fills your new sessions for convenience. Kalima detects languages automatically, and you can add expected-language hints to any session. See Languages and Detection.
Your preference is saved to your account, and the switcher remembers it for future visits when you're signed in.
