Sign-In & Account Issues
Resolve sign-in, lockout, verification, and password problems.
Most sign-in problems come down to a few common causes: a locked account after too many tries, an expired verification or reset link, or signing in with the wrong method. This page walks through each one with a quick fix.
Many sign-in screens show a short bot-verification check. If it keeps failing, refresh the page and try again, and temporarily pause any privacy or content-blocking browser extensions that might interfere.
Can't sign in
Double-check that you are entering the exact email you registered with and that Caps Lock is off. Use the show/hide toggle on the password field to confirm what you typed. If you still cannot get in, your password may have changed or been forgotten. Start the Forgot password flow from the login page to set a new one.
If you originally signed up with Google, there is no Kalima password to enter. See "I signed up with Google but it asks for a password" below.
If your account has been suspended, you are taken to a status page showing your email, a Suspended status, and a Contact support button instead of the Studio. You cannot use the app while suspended. Use Contact support on that page to reach the team and resolve it. You can read more in Account Security.
A sign-in session stays valid for up to 7 days, after which you are asked to sign in again. You are also signed out automatically if your account is deactivated or deleted. Just sign back in to continue.
On a shared device, remember that signing out clears locally cached app data on that device. This is intentional, to keep your transcripts private.
Account locked after failed attempts
After 5 failed sign-in attempts, the account is temporarily locked for 15 minutes to protect it from unauthorized access. Wait 15 minutes and try again. A successful sign-in clears the lockout.
If you are locked out because you cannot remember your password, use Forgot password instead of waiting. Resetting your password also lets you sign in right away.
The lockout is a security measure that protects your account from repeated guessing. There is no way to bypass the 15-minute wait, so the fastest route back in is usually a password reset.
Verification email problems
First, check your spam or junk folder, since verification messages sometimes land there. If it still has not arrived, open the in-app verification reminder dialog and select Resend verification email. You can resend up to 3 times per 5 minutes, with a 60-second cooldown between sends in the dialog.
Verification links expire after 24 hours and can be used only once. If yours has lapsed, simply request a fresh one with Resend verification email in the reminder dialog, then open the newest email.
You can browse the app right after signing up, but some features stay locked until you verify your email. These include AI features (such as summaries and chat), starting new transcription sessions, and privacy actions like requesting a data export or deleting your account. Verifying unlocks the full app. See Create Your Account for the full walkthrough.
Your sign-in session can lag a short time behind your verified status. It refreshes automatically. If the reminder persists, sign out and back in to refresh your session.
Resetting your password
Reset links expire after 1 hour and can be used only once. If yours has expired, start the Forgot password flow again to get a fresh link. Reset requests are limited to 3 per hour.
For privacy, the Forgot password page always shows a success message, even if no account matches that email, so the team cannot reveal which addresses are registered. Check your spam folder, confirm you used the right email, and remember the 3 requests per hour limit. If you signed up with Google, no reset email is sent (see below).
At least 8 characters, including at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number. On the signup and reset forms, each requirement turns green as you meet it.
Google vs. email sign-in
How you first created your account determines how you sign in. You cannot mix the two methods on the same account.
Sign in with the email and password you chose at signup. Use Forgot password any time you need to reset it.
Google accounts do not have a Kalima password. Use the Continue with Google button instead of typing a password. If you try the Forgot password flow on a Google account, no reset email is sent because there is no password to change.
For Gmail and Googlemail, dots and "+aliases" are treated as the same address, so [email protected] and [email protected] map to one account. You cannot create a second account from an alias of an email that is already registered. Sign in to the existing account instead, or use Forgot password. If you originally used Google, choose Continue with Google.
Throwaway and disposable email providers are blocked at signup. Use a permanent personal or work email address instead.
Repeated signups from the same network or device are rate-limited to protect against abuse. Wait for the time indicated in the message and try again. On a shared or office network, try again a little later.
