How AI quotas work across plans, what happens when you hit a limit, and free automatic session titles.
Kalima's AI tools draw from weekly allowances that depend on your plan. This page explains the three metered AI quotas, what happens when you reach a limit, the short safety cool-down, and the free automatic session titles.
The three AI quotas
Each metered AI tool has its own weekly allowance tied to your plan. They are tracked separately, so running low on one does not affect the others. Your remaining allowance is visible in your profile and the Billing dashboard.
The three metered quotas are AI summaries (each time you generate or regenerate a structured summary), AI chat messages (each question you send in the chat over a transcript), and AI autocorrections (each AI suggestion and each Apply-everywhere validation in AutoCorrect+). Automatic session titles are not metered: every session is named from its transcript when its recording ends, free on every plan.
Read-aloud (text-to-speech) is not one of the three weekly quotas. It is available to any signed-in user and is governed only by the short per-user cool-down described below.
What counts against each quota
Knowing exactly what consumes an allowance helps you plan. Some actions are free.

Per-plan AI quotas
Every plan, including Free, includes the full set of AI tools. Plans differ in the size of these weekly allowances, and in summary quality (see below). The table below shows each plan's weekly AI quotas.

Automatic session titles are not in this table because they are free on every plan and are never metered. Every session is named from its transcript when its recording ends.
"Unlimited" means there is no fixed weekly cap on that feature for fair, normal use. The short per-user cool-down still applies to keep things responsive for everyone.
Standard vs. enhanced summary quality
Quotas control how much you can use AI. A separate plan difference controls how good your summaries are. On Pro, Team, and Enterprise, summaries are produced by a stronger model automatically, giving you a more faithful, more detailed briefing for higher-stakes meetings. There is no setting to toggle; the better model is chosen for you based on your plan. Free and Plus use the standard summary quality. See AI Features Overview for more.
When quotas reset
All three AI quotas reset every Monday at 00:00 UTC. Unused allowance does not roll over to the next week. If you reach a limit late in the week, your full allowance returns at the next weekly reset (Monday 00:00 UTC), or you can upgrade right away for a larger or unlimited quota.
Quotas are metered per calendar week, not per rolling 7 days. They refresh every Monday (00:00 UTC), regardless of your subscription's renewal date.
What happens when you hit a limit
Reaching a quota only pauses that one feature. The rest of your account keeps working normally.

The short AI cool-down
Separate from your weekly quotas, all AI features share a short per-user safety cool-down. If you fire many AI requests in just a few seconds, for example by rapidly generating summaries or sending chat messages back to back, Kalima asks you to wait a moment before continuing. This keeps AI responsive for everyone.
If you see a "too many AI requests, please try again later" message, it is the short cool-down, not your weekly quota. Pause for a few seconds and try again; the message tells you roughly how long to wait. Read-aloud shares this same cool-down.
Automatic session titles
When a recording ends, Kalima writes a short, descriptive session name (up to eight words, with formatting characters stripped out) from your transcript, so your sessions get meaningful names instead of generic timestamps.
It happens on its own and it is free on every plan:
You can rename any session by hand at any time. Automatic titling only fills in a name for sessions you haven't named yourself.
Tips to make your allowance go further
A few habits stretch your weekly AI quotas:
- Pick the right view instead of regenerating. Switching between Overview, Tasks, Topics, and Markdown is free, and only generating a new summary counts. Generate once, then explore the views.
- Type small fixes yourself. In AutoCorrect+, typing a correction manually is free. Reserve the AI suggestion and "also fix others" for the corrections that benefit from AI validation.
- Use chat for quick lookups. A short, direct chat question costs one message regardless of length. Asking one well-formed question is more efficient than several vague ones.
- Summarize once the transcript is final. Editing the transcript after summarizing leaves the saved summary out of date and tempts you to regenerate. Clean it up first, then summarize.
