Profile & Preferences
Manage your name, profile details, and account information.
Your profile is where Kalima keeps your name, your interface language, and the key details of your account. This page shows you what you can edit, what is read-only, and where to find the rest of your preferences.
Where your profile lives
Open the account/profile dialog from the Studio, then switch to the Profile tab. Everything about your identity and personal preferences is grouped here, alongside an Account tab for privacy actions and a Referral tab for inviting friends.
The Profile tab also lets you edit your personal information, such as your first name, surname, and interface language.
Edit your personal information
You can update your display name and your interface language at any time.
Your first name and surname are how you appear across Kalima: on your account, in organizations and teams, and anywhere your name is shown to collaborators.
Changing your interface language here is a separate setting from your transcription languages. The interface language controls Kalima's menus and buttons; My Languages controls which languages are pre-selected when you record. See Language Settings for the full picture.
A note on interface language
Kalima's interface is fully translated into English and German. The preferred-language list may show additional options, but selecting one of those currently displays the interface in English until those translations are available. To work in a fully translated interface, choose English or Deutsch.
What you can view but not change here
Some account details are shown for reference and cannot be edited from the Profile tab. You will find these under Account & Security:
| Detail | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Email address | The address on your account, with a verification badge |
| Verification status | Whether your email is verified |
| Sign-in method | Either Email & Password or Google |
| Join date | When you created your account |
| Last login | The most recent time you signed in |
Your email address and sign-in method are set when you create your account and cannot be changed from this screen.
If your email shows as unverified, verify it to unlock the full app. Email verification is needed for AI features, creating new sessions, and privacy actions like data export and account deletion. See Create Your Account for how verification works.
Set your preferred transcription languages
The My Languages section on the Profile tab is where you choose a primary language and any secondary languages you commonly use. These pre-fill the language selection for new sessions, so you spend less time setting up each recording. They are preferences only, and you can still change languages for any individual session.
Full details are on the Language Settings page.
Where the rest of your preferences live
Profile is one tab among several. Here is where to find related settings:
Frequently asked questions
Your email address is shown on the Profile tab but cannot be changed from this screen. It is tied to how you sign in. If you need to move to a different address, contact support.
Open the Profile tab and look at Account & Security. It shows whether you sign in with Email & Password or with Google. Google accounts do not have a Kalima password, so the forgot-password flow does not apply to them.
Kalima's interface is fully translated into English and German only. Other options in the preferred-language list currently fall back to English text. Choose English or Deutsch for a fully translated experience.
Use the My Languages section on the Profile tab to set your primary and secondary transcription languages. These pre-fill new sessions but can always be overridden per session. See Language Settings.
Your signed-in session can briefly lag behind the latest account state. It refreshes on its own; if the reminder persists, sign out and back in to update your session.
