Connect Claude or ChatGPT to Kalima

Ask Claude or ChatGPT about your recordings. Works on every Kalima plan, set up in about two minutes.

Claude and ChatGPT can read your Kalima recordings and answer questions about them, for example what was decided in last week's planning meeting or who took on which task. Both connect through Kalima's MCP server, and both work on every plan, Free included.

The assistant sees nothing until you approve the connection in a Kalima window. By default it may only read your recordings and transcripts. On that same screen you can also let it read your saved AI summaries or move recordings into projects.

Claude

  1. In Kalima, open Settings and choose Integrations.
  2. On the Claude card, choose Connect. Claude opens its Connectors page with the form for a custom connector, already filled in with the name Kalima and the server address. Choose Add.
  3. Kalima opens in your browser. Sign in if asked, check what Claude is asking for and allow it.
  4. Start a new chat in Claude and ask about a recording.

ChatGPT

ChatGPT adds connectors like Kalima in its developer mode.

  1. In Kalima, open Settings, choose Integrations and, on the ChatGPT card, Set up. The guide that opens walks through each screen.
  2. In ChatGPT, turn on developer mode, create a new plugin named Kalima and paste the server address https://mcp.meetkalima.com/mcp. Leave the authentication set to OAuth.
  3. Kalima opens in your browser. Sign in if asked and allow the access.

What the assistant can do

  • Find and read recordings: ask about a meeting by topic, person, or date. The assistant can look for several names or topics in one question, and it quotes speakers by the names you gave them in Kalima.
  • Show a transcript: Claude and ChatGPT show it as a readable view, with speakers in colour and timestamps. Longer transcripts load more with one click. Every timestamp opens the recording in Kalima at that moment, and Open in Kalima opens the whole recording.
  • Follow a running recording: ask about what was just said in a meeting that is still being recorded.
  • Read saved summaries: only with the optional permission Read saved AI summaries.
  • File recordings that have no project: ask it to organize them. It suggests a place for each one, you review the list, change or skip entries, and confirm. Nothing moves before you confirm, and moving needs the optional permission Organize recordings. Without that permission, the assistant can still show you its suggestions.

To start from a session instead, use the AI tools tab: it opens a new chat in Claude or ChatGPT with that session already loaded.

Other AI tools

Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and other tools that support MCP connect with the same server address, https://mcp.meetkalima.com/mcp. You find it with a copy button under Settings, Integrations, and a guide for each tool on the MCP page.

Disconnect an assistant

Every connection appears under Settings, Integrations, Connected apps. Choose Revoke next to it, and the assistant loses access with its next request.
