Sign-in Rules: Two-Factor and Sign-in Duration
Require two-factor sign-in, limit how long a sign-in lasts for company accounts, and see and end console sign-ins in the Kalima Console.
The area Sign-in & security decides how the people in your company sign in to Kalima. Its sections, in order: Two-factor sign-in, Sign-in duration, Console sign-ins, Allowed networks, Domains, Single sign-on (SSO) and User provisioning (SCIM). This page covers the first three, which are part of every console plan.
Owners and admins change these settings. On Enterprise, a custom role with Read sign-in & security sees them without changing anything.
Two-factor sign-in
With two-factor sign-in, Kalima asks for a second factor when someone signs in. Each person sets it up themselves, in the Kalima app under Profile, Account. See Account security.
- Owners and admins: always required, as for everyone with a console role or custom role. Anyone who has not set it up yet is asked to do so in the app and before signing in to the console. The section shows how many have set it up.
- Require for all members: members without two-factor sign-in are asked to set it up the next time they open the app. Nobody is locked out.
The member list shows each person's two-factor status. Only the person can set it up.
Sign-in duration
Longest sign-in sets how long a sign-in with a company account lasts at most in the browser, desktop app and phone app, counted from the sign-in. After that the person signs in again.
| Choice | Effect |
|---|---|
| No fixed limit (default) | A sign-in lasts as long as it is used at least once every 7 days. |
| 8 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours, 3 days, 7 days | The sign-in ends after this time. |
A new limit applies at the next check of a sign-in, at most 30 minutes later. A recording in progress is not interrupted: the sign-out follows once it has ended. The console itself ends after 12 hours at the latest either way.
Console sign-ins
Console sign-ins lists who is signed in to your company's console right now, with device and start of the sign-in. A console sign-in ends after 30 minutes without use and after 12 hours at the latest.
To sign someone out of the console, choose End. They can sign in again afterwards, and their sign-ins in the Kalima app stay. Only an owner can end an owner's sign-in. To end your own session, use Sign out of the console.
