Teams, Team Leads and Cost Centers
Create teams in the Kalima Console, choose team leads, understand team workspaces and who can see them, and set cost centers.
Teams are your company's departments. A person can be in several teams. Each team has a shared workspace in the app, can have team leads, and can carry a cost center. Open Teams in the console.
Create a team
The list shows each team with its team lead, the number of people and its cost center.
People and team leads
On a team's page:
- Add person: choose an active person of your company who is not in the team yet. Tick As team lead to make them a lead right away.
- Make team lead and Remove team lead in a person's actions menu.
- Take out of the team: the person stays in the company. What is shared only with the team is no longer visible to them.
- Edit: change the name and description.
- Delete team: the people stay in the company and keep their recordings. What was shared with this team no longer opens for the team.
Team leads can invite people into their own team from the app. When no seat is free, the invitation becomes a seat request.
The shared workspace
Every team has its own workspace in the app. Whatever people in the team move there, everyone currently in the team can see. Someone who leaves the team loses access to it.
Owners and admins see a team's workspace only if they are in the team themselves. Note that owners and admins can add themselves to any team and then open everything in its workspace. The team is not notified, but the audit log records who added whom to which team and when.
The team page shows how many recordings are in the workspace only once the team has at least 5 people. It never shows the recordings themselves.
Cost center
A cost center is a free-text field per team for internal charging, for example the number from your accounting. On a team's page, under Cost center, choose Set or Change. It can have at most 40 characters; an empty field removes it.
The cost center appears in the teams list, next to the team in the CSV export under Usage, and in the company export under Privacy. It does not appear on invoices.
Who can change teams
- Owners and admins create, rename and delete teams, set cost centers and change who is in a team.
- Member admins put people into teams.
- On Enterprise, a custom role with Manage teams creates, renames and deletes teams and keeps cost centers. Who belongs to a team is changed with Manage members.
If you use SCIM, groups from your identity provider become teams. You cannot change the name or members of such a team in the console, but you still choose its team leads in Kalima.
