Payments & Invoices
Manage payment methods, download invoices, and handle payment issues.
Everything about how you pay Kalima lives in your Billing dashboard: the cards on file, your invoice history, and any alerts if a charge does not go through. This page walks you through managing payment methods, finding your invoices and receipts, and recovering from a failed payment.
Kalima processes payments securely through Stripe. Your card details are entered directly into Stripe's encrypted form and are never stored by Kalima.
What you can manage
- Payment methods: Add, replace, or remove saved cards and choose which one is charged by default.
- Invoices & receipts: View or download a PDF for every charge, for accounting and expense reports.
- Billing portal: A one-click secure Stripe portal for cards, history, and billing details.
- Payment recovery: Clear in-app alerts if a payment fails, with a direct link to fix it.
Payment methods
You can save one or more credit or debit cards. Each card is shown with its brand, the last four digits, and expiry date, and one card is marked as the default that gets charged for subscription renewals and credit purchases.
Setting a default card
The default card is the one Kalima charges automatically for your subscription renewals and top-ups. If you add a replacement card, set it as default so renewals do not fail on an expired card.
Keep at least one valid card on file. If your default card expires or is declined, your subscription renewal and any prepaid credit purchases can fail until you update it.
Invoices and receipts
Every charge produces an invoice you can review and keep for your records.
- Invoice list, your Billing dashboard lists each invoice with its status, amount, currency, and date.
- View or download, open the hosted invoice in your browser, or download it as a PDF.
- Receipt screen, right after a purchase completes, a confirmation screen shows the amount, what you bought (a plan or a credit pack), and a receipt number.
The invoice list is paginated, showing 20 invoices per page by default. Hosted invoice pages and PDFs are generated by Stripe, so they include the standard tax and billing details for your accounting.
The billing portal
For deeper changes, you can open the Stripe billing portal directly from your dashboard. Choose Manage billing and you will be taken to a secure, Stripe-hosted page where you can manage payment methods, review your full billing history, and update billing details such as your address or tax information. When you are finished, you return to Kalima.
Many everyday actions, viewing invoices, adding a card, changing your plan, are available right inside the Kalima Billing dashboard, so you only need the portal for things like updating your billing address or tax details.
What currency am I charged in?
Plans and credit packs are priced in EUR. On the Credits page, prices may be displayed in your local currency for convenience using live exchange rates, but the actual charge is processed in EUR through Stripe.
When a payment fails
If a card is declined or expires, you will not lose your data or your account immediately. Kalima shows a clear alert so you can fix it in time.
If repeated charge attempts keep failing, the warning escalates to a more urgent notice. Persisting failures can eventually move your subscription to a past due state and, if still unresolved, lead to cancellation, so it is best to update your card as soon as you see the first banner.
A failed payment does not delete anything. Update your default card promptly to keep your plan active and avoid dropping back to Free limits.
Enterprise invoicing
Enterprise customers can pay by invoice with NET-30 terms instead of (or alongside) a card on file. This is arranged with the Kalima team as part of your Enterprise agreement.
